In the novel Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo, the main character Alina struggles with her identity as an ordinary girl but eventually discovers she has extraordinary powers. She faces danger and betrayal but is ultimately rescued by her love Mal. In the climax, Alina harnesses her power to defeat the Darkling and escape from his control, cementing her role as the Sun Summoner who can change the world.
