PF Return Filing
PF return filing is the process of submitting the return on the
amount deposited in the employee’s Provident Fund account with
the Employee Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). The employer
is responsible for filing the PF return on behalf of their employees.
The PF return needs to be filed on a monthly basis, and it includes
details of the employee’s contribution, employer’s contribution, and
interest earned on the account. The employer needs to file the return
electronically using the EPFO’s online portal.
To file the PF return, the employer needs to have the following
information:
1. The establishment code provided by the EPFO
2. The employer’s PAN card number
3. The employee’s Aadhaar number and UAN (Universal Account
Number)
The due date for filing the PF return is the 15th of every month. If
the return is not filed on time, the employer may be liable to pay a
penalty.
It is essential to file the PF return on time as it helps in maintaining
accurate records of the PF account and ensures that the employees
receive their PF benefits on time.
