Aim
What is it we want to accomplish?
It is planned to run a personality development
cadre for the candidates who have passed written
test for ACC prior to their appearing for SSB.
The aim of the cadre is to give the candidate an
opportunity to realize his full potential and hone the
leadership qualities through various classroom and
outdoor activities, thereby bringing about substantial
attitudinal changes in his behaviour.

• To be conducted immediately on arrival, by the qualified
Directing Staff, consisting of the following :-

• A total of three days earmarked for the screening test.
Candidates found unsuitable to be RTU.
Methodology
• Opening Address / Documentation
 This will be conducted only for those candidates
who have been found suitable to undergo the cadre, on
the fourth day of this course.
• Syndicate.
 Four syndicates with a str of 25 candidates each.
 Heterogeneous gp
 Different Regiments
 Different linguistic affiliations/Social Gps
 Different Socio-economic backgrounds

Offr In-charge Syndicates.
• Each syndicate will have an offr in-charge.
• Should preferably be a TO/IO/GTO qualified offr or an
offr with psychology background.
• The offr will be resp to provide indl attention to each
candidate, monitor his progress both individually as well as
in a gp and provide individualized guidance and counselling.
• The offr will maint a dossier for each candidate for this
purpose.
Guidance and Counselling.
 The importance of guidance and counselling in a
personality development cadre needs no emphasis.
 It will be the responsibility of the Officer In
Charge of the syndicate to monitor the progress of
each candidate on a regular basis and provide
necessary guidance/counselling to each individual
separately.
 A record of the same will be maintained in the
dossier of the candidates.
Methodology
Course and Class Senior
• Every syndicate to have a cl senior and an understudy
to him.
• Rotational appt - to be changed every week.
• Cl senior resp for detailing other students for
different tasks like PT/ games or excursions.
• In addn to the cl seniors there will also be a course
senior nominated on voluntary basis to coord course
activities in consultation with offr I/C course. This will
also be a rotatory appt.
• Syndicates to be reorganized after every four weeks
based on the performance of each indl in his gp.
• Max interaction among students will be encouraged
for better inter-personal adjustments.
Methodology
Conduct
Central Lectures.
• These lectures will be informative in nature
and will cover the topics on general awareness,
current affairs, human psychology, personality,
etiquettes, social graces and hobbies etc.
• These lectures will also highlight the
importance of following traits:-
 Positive Attitude
 Co-operation
 Gp Dynamism
 Power of Expression
Conduct
Lecturette.
 Every candidate to deliver 12 lecturettes (01 per
week) of 5 mins each during the course.
 For the first cycle, topics to be given one day in
advance.
 Second and third cycle - topics to be given during
the class itself and candidates to get 05 mins to prepare.
 In one period four lecturettes to be completed.
 A total of 75 pds (25 x 12 = 300/4 = 75 pds) need to
be devoted for the purpose
Conduct
• Gp Discussion. Two per week for three pds,
2 x 3 x 12 = 72 pds.
• Paper Writing / Assignments (OTW). Students will be
reqd to write one paper of approx 200 words, every week as
OTW.
• Book Review (OTW). During each cycle every student will
be asked to write one book review. Hence every student will
write three book reviews in the entire duration of the course.
• One Fiction Book
• One book on Academic Subject / Gen Science / Mil
History/ Biography
• One book on Hobbies / Gen Interest / adventure
activities
Gp Activities / Projects
 Each Syndicate will org at least one
skit / play let / any other
entertainment activity with in the
syndicate.
 Inter syndicate competition will also
be organized.
Conduct
PT/Games.
 Students to org their own PT and Games.
 Class senior will every day detail one student to
organize PT & Games.
The Offr will only observe them without
interfering with the activities of the class.
The students will be encouraged to learn at least
one offr game and two tps games.
They will also be given exposure to Yoga and
Meditation.
Conduct
Outdoor Exercises/Excursions.
 Every Sunday/Holiday each class will plan an excursion.
 The syndicate will also be responsible for over all
planning and conduct.
The planning will include the following:-
• Deciding the place of visit
• Time out and Time in
• Route out and route in
• Adm arrangements incl food, water, first aid etc
Outdoor Exercises/Excursions(contd….)
 The Gp will be accompanied by the Offr I/C, in the capacity of an
observer.
 He will throw various challenges/situations to the gp .
 There will be frequent change of leader during the ex.
 A few suggested sits could be as under:-
• One member of the team has fallen down from the hill………
• One member of the team has suffered dehydration ……..
• One member of the team has been bitten by a snake………
• The team encounters a wild animal…………….
• Team finds an old man who has been abandoned by his
family and needs immediate medical attention ………
• A TATA Sumo hits a couple walking on the road and speeds
away……
