Editor's Notes

  • #2 Welcome to Spacesaver’s Personal Appearance presentation. Say that five times fast! This webinar is all about acceptable attire on the job. We’ll cover Business Casual and Production attire.
  • #3 In a nut shell, you reflect Spacesaver. If you appear put-together, management and our customers will feel more confident in your ability and the ability of Spacesaver. Hair, facial hair, and body must be cleaned and groomed and should give off no noticeable body odor. Clothing must be clean and in good condition.
  • #4 This is just a little joke to lighten the mood! READ JOKE. Business Casual is often a very subjective dress code. Let’s try to clarify what this means at Spacesaver.
  • #5 Business Casual is defined as relating to or denoting a style of clothing that is less formal than traditional business wear, but is still intended to give a professional and businesslike impression
  • #6 Here are some examples of acceptable Business Casual attire. Clean and well maintained dress slacks, khakis pants, or colored jeans. Dressed up jeans (we’ll dig into this a bit more ). Dresses, skirts (knee length or longer). Suit coats, sweaters, dress shirts, polo shirts, and blouses. Management may suspend or relax the dress code as needed.
  • #7 Casual does not mean sloppy. Any clothing that is dirty, wrinkled, frayed or torn should not be worn in the office. Additionally the following items are not acceptable as part of our Business Casual policy: T-shirts, tank tops, or sweatshirts. Low or revealing clothing. Shorts, sweat pants, or sweat suits. And, as always please don’t wear any clothing containing graphic or offensive messages.
  • #8 The intent of Dressed up Jeans is to create a casual but smart and put-together look that still projects a professional appearance. Jeans that are in good condition, cleaned and pressed and don’t contain holes, rips, tears or unintentional fading may be worn in our office environment as long as they are paired with other Business Casual attire.
  • #9 These are just a few examples of acceptable Dressed up Jeans. Jeans that are clean and in good condition paired with button up shirts, sweaters, blouses, blazers and appropriate footwear and accessories. When in doubt, leave it out!
  • #10 Jeans aren’t always acceptable. Tattered or low hanging jeans, t-shirts, flip flops, sweatshirts or dirty tennis shoes are not appropriate for our Office environment. Don’t forget the Dressed Up part of acceptable jeans.
  • #11 It has been said that “it’s the shoes that make the outfit”. At Spacesaver, we encourage you to be just as mindful of your footwear as you are of your clothing. You’ll see here, that most dress shoes are appropriate. Please leave the old tennis shoes and beach wear at home!
  • #12 While our Production team members must dress appropriately in order to safeguard against hazards, they should still project a clean and well maintained image. No clothing with rips or tears greater than 1 inch are allowed. As always, clothing containing graphic or offensive messages or pictures are prohibited. In addition to appropriate production attire, team members are required to adhere to Spacesaver’s Personal Protective Equipment Policy when dressing for their work day. Furthermore, any person entering a production area must be wearing long pants, closed toed shoes, safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • #13 Failure to abide by this policy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment. Spacesaver reserves the right to revise, supplement or rescind any policies or portions of its policies as deemed appropriate, with or without notice, within the Company’s discretion In cases where it might be medically necessary to veer from the Personal Appearance Policy, please see your supervisor or Human Resources for approval.
