The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is Dallas' newest museum housed in a $190 million cube-shaped building designed by architect Thom Mayne. The museum features hands-on, interactive exhibits across 11 halls to engage visitors of all ages in science, math, and technology through exploration and experimentation. It aims to create a more science-literate community and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators. The museum grew out of a merger of three institutions and was made possible by major private donations, including $50 million from the children of Ross and Margot Perot. Its exhibits incorporate cutting-edge technology to make science compelling and accessible to both children and adults.

Scientists have discovered the first hybrid shark off the coast of Australia, finding 57 hybrids between the common blacktip shark and the Australian blacktip shark along 2,000 km of coastline. This discovery suggests shark species may respond to changing ocean conditions by interbreeding. The hybrid sharks have been found swimming over 1,000 miles south of the typical range of Australian blacktips, indicating the hybrids may have an evolutionary advantage in a changing climate by allowing the species to better adapt to different conditions. Researchers first realized something unusual was occurring when sharks' genetic analysis showed they were one species but had physical characteristics of another.
Listen and engage with these industry experts in various fields of oceanography as they impart their knowledge on things like underwater imaging and robotics, "The Shark Lab" in the Bahamas, marine fish and ocean exploration.
