This article is developed by the students of AISD4 (school use) group of Ahlcon International School for EUMIND Project which depicts the comparison of their research results with Pont School, Netherlands.
In April 2015 the University of Salford successfully implemented askUS, a new student-facing ‘one stop shop,’ taking just 14 weeks from project launch to service inception. Bringing together teams from three disparate locations with very different ways of working, the askUS project co-located a range of services including Finance, Visas & Immigration, Registration, Counselling & Wellbeing, Careers & Employability…and many more! The success of the askUS project was co-creating with students, and working with operational colleagues to design how the service should work, what it should look like and how it should feel. This session will explore our experiences of getting things done in just 14 weeks, including how we adapted existing building layouts and student systems, and how we changed our ways of working and dealt with any challenges.
This presentation includes the following topics:
- What is Project Based Learning?
- What's actually difference between Academic Based & Project Based Learning?
- How a student can proceed to change the system?
- How one get ready for Industry-Ready?
- Explore Google to learn more
- Thanks!

We aim to do this every year to compare results to last year as well as
see how the views have changed over a year.

10. SAMPLE WORDED QUESTIONS – WHAT DID
YOU LIKE ABOUT THE LAPTOP SCHEME?
It allows me to access a wide range of resources to get information on the subject
that I am searching up at the time I can learn more things and get a better idea of
what we are being taught.
Not having to 'fight' with other staff to get access to suites
of computers
I like always being able to access online
resources and that if there is a problem, I
know I can give it in to be fixed.
I enables my classes to have
greater access to the target
language and the ability to use
resources that will further their
understanding of the language
The freedom of
having a laptop.
11. SAMPLE WORDED QUESTIONS – WHAT DID
YOU DISLIKE ABOUT THE LAPTOP SCHEME?
If the loan laptops were always
charged before we got them.
Faster repairs
A stronger and
more durable laptop
If your laptop does get broken
and there fore taken into repair,
it should be easier to receive a
temporary replacement when
needed.
Didn't need an administration
password to use home
printers. To get my laptop
before i start
if the laptop maintained 9 hours
battery forever not just for 3/4 of
the year
12. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS
i think the laptop scheme is
very good and i think
improves our learning
throughout different subjects More laptops available to book and
better battery life.
Some staff allow them to charge their
laptops as a result of this. We either all
allow this or follow the rules on not
charging within school.
Mr L Searle needs to
practice his raps
The loan laptops
should be better
quality
you should let new kids
borrow laptops till they get
there own ones
- i think that their is always a
queue to see you
- it is really cool that if anything is
wrong we can come and see you
I think the laptop scheme is
great and it really benefits
lessons and home work. For
the price you pay it's
perfect and it's one of those
things that makes Perins
better than other schools.
