Who we are and what we want
We are journalism and media students at Coventry
University who believes it’s wrong to pay genders
differently for doing the same job so our outcome is to
help pave the way to change.
We think it’s time this problem was discussed properly
with real outcomes. We want the real problem to be
explained to those who don’t understand the problem.
To vote for something, people need to really understand
it.
Our Plans
Our aim is to make awareness and fight for
justice by using media campaigns.
Our plan is surveys, questionnaires, word of
mouth and social media.
Equal rights
Equal rights is something that affects everyone today, whether it’s being
discriminated by race, beliefs, religion, gender, sexual orientation etc. The
Equality Act became a law in 2010; the act itself covers everyone in Britain
and protects him or her from discrimination harassment and
victimisation. You are protected from discrimination: When you are in the
workplace. When you use public services like health care (e.g. visiting
your GP or local hospital) or education (e.g. your school or college). When
you use businesses and other organizations that provide services and
goods (like shops, restaurants, and cinemas) and also when you use
transport.
Why this cause
In this generation a same sex couple shouldn’t fear holding hands or showing
affection for each other just like a ‘norm’ couple does without fearing other
people’s opinions and hatred and women shouldn’t feel like they’re being
penalized because they don’t have a penis. They shouldn’t fear that they are
being judged because they’re women drivers, or they’re not great chefs, or
they don’t want to take maternity leave, or they don’t want to be a stay at
home mum. Women shouldn’t fear being judged because they like to wear
trousers, and men shouldn’t fear because they like to wear women’s clothes.
This is the same for equal pay. We strongly agree that women should be paid
the same as men, as they work just as hard. We also feel that men shouldn’t
fear showing emotion as the majority of men today feel that showing
emotion is a woman’s thing and fear that if they do they will be seen as weak.

We care about women’s rights and gay rights, that is why we’re fighting for equal
rights.
We’re in 2016, we have enough to fear in the world without fearing we aren’t
receiving equal rights. This isn’t the world we should want to live in. So we stand
to make a movement together, where men and women receive equal rights no
matter their age, gender, race, sexuality, religion etc.
Women shouldn’t feel like they’re being penalized because they don’t have a
penis. They shouldn’t fear that they are being judged because they’re women
drivers, or they’re not great chefs, or they don’t want to take maternity leave, or
they don’t want to be a stay at home mum. Women shouldn’t fear being judged
because they like to wear trousers, and men shouldn’t fear because they like to
wear women’s clothes.
This is the same for equal pay. We strongly agree that women should be paid the
same as men, as they work just as hard.

End goals
When we make awareness we want something properly to come out of it. We
want to campaign to make and create a notion to make equal wages. Men
and women deserve equal wages, they both work hard, so they both deserve
to earn the same amount so our end goal is to get the ball rolling and to get
the conversation started. Before change can happen, people need to know
there’s a problem.

  • 14. End goals When we make awareness we want something properly to come out of it. We want to campaign to make and create a notion to make equal wages. Men and women deserve equal wages, they both work hard, so they both deserve to earn the same amount so our end goal is to get the ball rolling and to get the conversation started. Before change can happen, people need to know there’s a problem.
