This document provides information about the past continuous tense in English, including: - The past continuous tense is used to describe an action that was ongoing at a specific time in the past. It is formed with was/were + verb+ing. - Examples are given of using the past continuous tense alone and with the past simple tense to indicate two simultaneous past actions, one ongoing (past continuous) and one instantaneous (past simple). - A practice exercise is included to fill in blanks with the correct past continuous verb forms based on contexts describing ongoing past actions. - An advanced fill-in-the-blank exercise practices using the past continuous tense in a short story context.

表示現在這個「時刻
（ now ）」某件事正在

5. 補充：
• 瞬間動作（ momentary ）表示瞬間的動作
，例如：
go 、 come 、 call 、 start 、 stop 、 finish
、 open 、 close 等。因為瞬間動詞是用來
表達發生後馬上就結束的動作，因此這類
動詞在大部分的情況下不會以進行式
• 出現。
• 例如： Emma went to the middle of the
street and stopped a car.
