This is the first language flashcard set from 13 different languages in the Afghanistan and East African theaters of operation for US military forces. Each language has several different subjects, such a basic language set, public affairs, air crew, etc. I downloaded all of the flashcards from the Defense Language Institute's resource center and converted them to paper format. They were available free-to-download through my non-profit, The Wounded Artist Project, which is currently not in operation.
Printing instructions are on page 91. You will print pages 1-45, flip them accordingly and printing pages 46-90 on the reverse so you have a flip-able flashcard. Disregard pages 92-135/
Pashto Afghanistan basic module flashcards from DLIrbakerj2
In 2009, I started The Wounded Artist Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to encourage our wounded service members to develop art skills that might help them pick a career path or college major in case they were medically discharged. About 2011, I happened to find online language resources at DLI and I decided to use them to create free, downloadable language flashcards for those in theater. I thought the users could better interact with the locals in Afghanistan or in East Africa and not look like a bunch of young thugs in battle rattle. I also hoped they would keep them upstream of our nonprofit’s mission.
DLI’s resources offer dozens of languages (https://fieldsupport.dliflc.edu/productList.aspx?v=lsk). It gives users six “Language Survival Kits” for each language to pick from: Aircrew, Basic (daily situations that can be peaceful or life-threatening), Civil Affairs, Medical, Navy, and Public Affairs. Each of these are broken down into dozens of scenarios. Here is a link (https://fieldsupport.dliflc.edu/products/pashto/pu_bc_LSK/) to the page for Basic for Pashto for Afghanistan and here is the link (https://fieldsupport.dliflc.edu/products/pashto/pu_bc_LSK/module1.html) to the first module you come to for “Command, Warnings and Instructions.” In all each language has about 2,000 words and phrases.
When you click a link to get a module you see only six of the words or phrases at a time out of the many in the situation. In order to create a set of flashcards I had to view the source of each screen, locate and copy the words out of the HTML coding, paste them into an Excel file and repeat this process until I got to the end of the situation (“Command…”). After I got all of the words and phrases into two columns in my Excel file I had to manipulate them to create language name, situation, card number, etc., into a printable format. I did this with macros I created. The first language, Pashto for Afghanistan, took me about 40 hours to complete for all 2,000 words and phrases. I finally got it down to about eight hours for a complete language.
I created flashcard sets for 13 different languages for the two theaters of operation: Pashto for Afghanistan, Pashto for Pakistan, Dari, Persian Farsi, Baluchi, Kazakh, Turkmen, Uzbek, Swahili, Yemeni Arabic, Somali, Amharic, and Tigrinya. These 13 languages times six kits per language equals 78 separate flashcard sets. I also created a video in 2012 about the cards for our nonprofit’s YouTube channel (link).
Unfortunately, our nonprofit is now inactive due to a lack of funding, but before that happened I did manage to send out about 350 of our own art kits to those who requested them.
Travels of a young, ex-GI in Africa following his Army discharge in Germany. I like to tell people that me and another guy were on a magazine cover with Bruce Springsteen and a bunch of girls in bikinis... still true even though we were all in different pictures. Countries included Egypt, the Sudan, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia and Malawi.

This document contains descriptions and titles of artworks from Ray Bakerjian's portfolio. It includes various pencil sketches, paintings and other works depicting military aircraft like F-16s, F-4s and A-7Ds, as well as soldiers, vehicles and other subjects. Many of the pieces were commissioned or relate to Bakerjian's experience with the Michigan Air National Guard. The document provides information on the media and current locations of over 20 separate artworks.
A how-to-draw booklet of modern US troops returning fire at the enemy. They are drawn in stages of simple lines much like the Lee Ames "Draw 50" series of books from the 50's and 60's. You will probably find a few copies of the series in the children's section of your local library. I did them for The Wounded Artist Project, the non-profit I started to support wounded veterans, but the org is no longer operational.
This document provides a summary of Ray Bakerjian's portfolio, including various sketches, paintings and other artwork he has created. It includes pencil sketches of military subjects like an M-4 carbine, soldiers, vehicles and aircraft. It also lists paintings in oil and watercolor of fighter jets and pilots. Finally, it mentions some graphic design work like book covers, patches, and logos created using software like Gimp for projects with his non-profit organization The Wounded Artist Project.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Creative operations teams expect increased AI use in 2024. Currently, over half of tasks are not AI-enabled, but this is expected to decrease in the coming year. ChatGPT is the most popular AI tool currently. Business leaders are more actively exploring AI benefits than individual contributors. Most respondents do not believe AI will impact workforce size in 2024. However, some inhibitions still exist around AI accuracy and lack of understanding. Creatives primarily want to use AI to save time on mundane tasks and boost productivity.
Organizational culture includes values, norms, systems, symbols, language, assumptions, beliefs, and habits that influence employee behaviors and how people interpret those behaviors. It is important because culture can help or hinder a company's success. Some key aspects of Netflix's culture that help it achieve results include hiring smartly so every position has stars, focusing on attitude over just aptitude, and having a strict policy against peacocks, whiners, and jerks.

Google's Just Not That Into You: Understanding Core Updates & Search IntentLily Ray
1. Core updates from Google periodically change how its algorithms assess and rank websites and pages. This can impact rankings through shifts in user intent, site quality issues being caught up to, world events influencing queries, and overhauls to search like the E-A-T framework.
2. There are many possible user intents beyond just transactional, navigational and informational. Identifying intent shifts is important during core updates. Sites may need to optimize for new intents through different content types and sections.
3. Responding effectively to core updates requires analyzing "before and after" data to understand changes, identifying new intents or page types, and ensuring content matches appropriate intents across video, images, knowledge graphs and more.

91. These tranlsations were taken from the Defense Language Institute's
Familiarization Module website (http://fieldsupport.dliflc.edu/index.aspx).
Instructions for printing:
A preferred paper to use would be #64 cardstock (available at office and art
supply stores). This gives the flashcards some thickness so the translations aren't
visible through it. They are also more durable. If these are not concerns just use
regular paper.
This file has 90 pages that will print up 45 pages or sheets of flashcards. The first
45 pages are all of the English words in columns A-C. Select and print these
pages first.
The next 45 pages (46-90) are all of the Pashto translations in columns D-F. Take
the first 45 pages and feed them, one page at a time if necessary, so Page 1 has
Page 46 on its reverse.
You may want to just print Page 1 first and then select Page 46 to be printed next
to see how you have to feed Page 1 in.
It is NOT recommended that you print all of the first 45 pages and then just load
them into your printer. They may wind up out of order, that is, Page 90, not Page
46, may print on the back of Page 1.
Each card is numbered so as a quality check you should have the first 15 cards in Pashto and English on the sa
If not, start over.
