2. Principal Secretary MSME LN Gupta said that
development of MSME is priority of State
Government, as it has announced several new
policies to promote manufacturing enterprises.
3. He said, speaking at a seminar during the MSME
Fair that the State Level Single Window
Committees have approved 251 projects worth
Rs.661 crore since 1 April, 2015.
4. “In order to create an opportunity for MSMEs to
set up downstream units, State Government is
setting up Aluminium Park at Angul, Plastic Park
at Paradeep, Fly Ash Park at Angul and Marine
Food Park at
Deras, Bhubaneswar,” he added.
5. Mr.Gupta said as many as 54 product based
MSME clusters have been identified for
development in a phased manner.
6. In his address Nalco CMD Tapan Kumar Chand
said that large industries are like trunks of a tree
while MSMEs are the roots. “Development of
MSMEs is essential for employment,” he added.
7. Principal Secretary, Industries Sanjeev Chopra
lauded the MSME Department for organizing
this year’s trade fair with a difference.
8. He said various departments have undertaken
reforms in the regulations and processes and
today online clearances for 15 services are
available for entrepreneurs to take advantage.
9. Mr.Chopra also called upon the MSMEs to take
benefit of State Government’s Industrial Portal
for Land Use & Services (GOiPLUS), Automated
Post Allotment Application (APAA), Infowizard
and Composite Inspection Framework as part of
ease of doing their business.
10. Secretary Skill Development & Technical
Education and CMD IDCO, Sanjay Kumar Singh in
his address said that a land bank of one lakh
acre is being created in the State, and a portion
of which will be reserved for development of
MSMEs.
11. He cited the example of Electronics System
Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) cluster at Info
Valley and said large industries are asking for
setting up of MSME units before they arrive.
12. Mr. Singh added that there are 103 industrial
estates, and many of these have surplus
developed land available for allotment to
MSMEs.
13. Director, Institute of Minerals & Materials
Technology (IMMT) Barada Kant Mishra called
upon all the R & D institutes to come together to
help generate ideas, set up incubation facility
and help the entrepreneurs to commercialize
the technology.
14. He added that Odisha should have an online
CSIR window to disseminate relevant
technologies for the MSME sector.

Krishnan shared the various possibilities for
MSME entrepreneurs in plastic sector while
Central Tool Room & Training Centre(CTTC) Dr SK
Kar spoke in detail on the importance of zero
defect zero effect for the industries.
