April marks Parkinson's Awareness Month in Canada to recognize those impacted by the progressive neurodegenerative disease. Parkinson's affects movement, mood, speech, eating, drinking, sleep and cognitive abilities for over 100,000 Canadians. By 2031, the number of Canadians over 40 with Parkinson's is expected to increase 65% while those over 65 with the disease will more than double. Parkinson Canada raises awareness and funds through the month to continue supporting Canadians and investing over $25 million into research to find a cure.
