2. What Does The Parking Fee Do ?

“The Rapid City University Center Parking
fee is fourteen dollars and fifty cents a
semester for students who take classes
there during the spring and fall”("Parking," 2013).

This fee allows them to pay for the
maintenance of the parking lot ("Parking," 2013) .

An example of the maintenance would be
removing snow and ice and other
maintenance issues with the parking ("Parking," 2013).

3. Who Pays the Parking
Fee and Who does not

Any student who
attends classes at
the University
Center("Parking," 2013).

This includes
students who do not
own vehicle ("Parking," 2013).


4. Why We Feel This is Unfair

These students that do not have vehicles
are maybe car pooling.

For the driver to pick up and drop off the
student.

Approximate cost is 23.04 dollars each
semester in a mid-size vehicle (mapquest, 2013).

This means for the students who do not
have vehicles are spending around 75.08
dollars a year that take one class (mapquest,
2013).

5. Why We Feel This Unfair Cont.

We feel that these students who do not have
vehicles are getting unfair treatment.

The money that the students are getting
charged could go towards the gas that it
costs them to get out there.

The cost of gas would also vary depending
on where the student is located.

It is a approximatively 5.82 miles out to the
university center from the south side of
Rapid City (mapquest, 2013).

6. What Can We Do To Change
This Policy

We have Contacted the Dean of the
University Center about this policy.

We have also made a Face book page
about this topic

So what can you do?

Students can also contact the Dean and
Like our page any help can us change this
policy.
