distribution centre.
The client is one of the largest UK 2 man
delivery specialist delivering around 6000 orders
every day which equates to over 2 million
consignments per year.
To meet the needs of an ever changing retail
environment the client is consistently investing
in storage / distribution and IT infrastructure.
This has resulted in a comprehensive network
of hubs and vehicles.
The company had a pressing need to open a
new distribution centre to service the South
West and this particular 160,000 sq ft site was
identified as suitable.
Storage equipment specialist Avanta UK
successfully tendered for the pallet racking
project, including the sprinklers and an
advanced smoke detection system.
The project had a strict 6 week build
programme specified by the client and Avanta
completed the project on time and now there
is over 5700 pallet positions available including
low level storage for anything from a mattress
to a tumble dryer.
As well as offering the 2 man delivery service
the client can also offer extensive warehousing
and storage solutions.
The delivery company has signed a
two-year lease on a warehouse and
distribution centre in the South West and
now the company is operating from a
160,000 sq ft facility.
