Poundland wanted to be seen as an essential shop for weekly groceries, on par with major supermarkets. They devised a "Weekly Essentials" campaign using social media, PR and partnerships to challenge shoppers to save on their weekly shop at Poundland. This resulted in 30 pieces of media coverage and over 250 mums sharing money-saving experiences online. As a result, Poundland saw year-on-year sales increases of 56% in groceries, 26% in health & beauty, and 20% in household goods, showing a tangible shift in consumer perception of the brand.

literatūrā minēts, ka Jelgavai pilsētas tiesības
piešķirtas 1573. gadā. Savukārt pirmās
atsauces uz ģerboni saglabājušās no 1574.
gada, kad pilsētas kases grāmatā tapis ieraksts
par to, ka kādam zeltkaļa zellim Hansam
samaksāta 11 marku liela atlīdzība par pilsētas
zīmoga grebšanu. Par pilsētas galvu
(birģermeistaru) toreiz minēts kāds Jēkabs
Laude.

lēmums apliecina pašreizējā Jelgavas pilsētas
ģerboņa statusu: «Purpura laukā aļņa galva

1. Jelgavas pilsētai ir savs karogs. Tas dalīts divās vienāda platuma daļās: augšā tumši zils, bet apakšā sarkans; karoga centrā ir Jelgavas pilsētas ģerbonis.
2. Privātpersonām un organizācijām ir aizliegts lietot Jelgavas pilsētas karoga attēlu, ar vai bez ģerboņa,
biedrību karogos un nozīmēs. Visos pārējos gadījumos privātas personas un organizācijas var lietot
karoga attēlu vai tā atdarinājumu ar katrreizēju pilsētas valdes atļauju.
3. Tuvākus noteikumus par karoga lietošanu Jelgavas pilsētas iestādēs izstrādā Jelgavas pilsētas valde un
apstiprina Iekšlietu ministrija.

izdevīga. Pilsēta ir dzelzceļa krustpunkts,

6. Jelgavas vēsture (2)
Jelgava atrodas Zemgales līdzenumā,
līdzenumā, kurš veidojies ledus
laikmeta beigās bijušā Baltijas
saldūdens ezera vietā. Grūti
iedomāties, ka apmēram 6-7
tūkstošus gadu atpakaļ Jelgavas vieta
bija zem ūdens. Senākā zināmā
iedzīvotāju - klejotāju, mednieku un
zvejnieku dzīves vieta atrasta
apmēram 8 km uz dienvidiem no
Jelgavas Jaunsvirlaukas tuvumā,
netālu no Lielupes, kur toreiz bija
jūras krasts. Atkāpjoties ledājiem uz
ziemeļiem uz ziemeļiem atkāpās arī
jūra. Tad veidojās gan Zemgales
līdzenums, gan Lielupe un tās
daudzās pietekas, gan lielie purvi.
