Why aren't designers interested in Open Source? That's a loaded question. In today's design climate, very few designers use or are interested in using Open Source alternatives to their current software and systems. Why? This talk aims to discuss some possible factors preventing designers from going Open. Factors to be discussed include familiarity, industry standards, education and awareness. This talk will also examine real world scenarios and what can be done to encourage designers to consider their options.
