IRS Defined “Passive Income”?
• Income from Pass-Through Entities: income received by
an investor from private Pass-Through Entities such as
LLCs, Partnerships, and S-Corps generally qualifies as
passive income if the investor does not “materially
participate” in the business

hours per year engaging in day-to-day management
