Hungary is located in East-Central Europe, with a population of over 10 million people. Its capital and largest city is Budapest. Hungary joined the European Union in 2004. It has a GDP per capita of around $20,000 USD and its largest economic sectors are services, industry, and agriculture. Hungary attracts significant foreign direct investment and is a leader in Central and Eastern Europe in terms of ICT expenditure per capita. Major foreign investors in Hungary are from Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.
