On February 21, 2012, Lillian Feinstein Elementary School opened its doors during winter vacation week to host a "Out of This World Space Camp" for students in grades K-2. Students participated in activities led by AmeriCorps members to learn about the solar system, including the distance between planets, phases of the moon, and the composition of planets. Students also participated in math games, building comets, reader's theater, and drawing what makes Earth special. At the end of the week, parents were invited to see what the students had been working on.
