Mafalda and her brother Duarte have a typical school day that starts at 7:30 am when Mafalda wakes up. They eat breakfast at 8 am and start classes at 9 am, attending various subjects like math, Portuguese, science, and arts. For lunch from 12-1:15 pm, Mafalda eats items like vegetable soup, turkey, and fruit in the school canteen. After school, Mafalda does homework at an after-school program while Gonçalo works at home. In the evenings, they relax by watching TV, playing games, or reading before bed at 9:30 pm.
