To whom it may concern:
This letter is provided at the request of Luis Orozco, who has asked me to serve as a
reference on his behalf. I became acquainted with Mr. Orozco in the spring of 2011
when he enrolled in my Junior-Senior seminar entitled “The Pacific World.” Over the
course of that semester, I observed Mr. Orozco’s active and intelligent participation in
group settings, evaluated his aptitude for appraising complex historical
interpretations and conducting historical research, and assessed his ability to convey
an original interpretation as both a writer and public speaker. Overall, Mr. Orozco
excelled – a fact made evident by his earning a very strong “B” in the class.
As a result, I nominated his seminar paper for inclusion in the Francis G. Harper Student
History Conference in December of 2013. Titled "Japan: An Empire and it's Colonies,”
Mr. Orozco’s paper took third place.
Over the course of the semester I worked with Mr. Orozco, I came to appreciate his
preparation, professionalism, and dedication to education. As a result, I give him my
highest possible recommendation and have great confidence in his ability to become
a tremendous asset to the school district fortunate enough to hire him.
If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.
Yours sincerely,
Brad J. Cartwright, Ph.D.
