Optic neuritis is an inflammation of the optic nerve that causes vision loss and eye pain. It can be unilateral or bilateral. Common symptoms include sudden vision loss, eye pain on eye movement, and abnormal color vision. Signs include disc swelling, visual field defects, and afferent pupillary defect. Differential diagnoses include anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, compressive lesions, infections, multiple sclerosis, and autoimmune or paraneoplastic causes. Investigations include visual field testing, visual evoked potentials, and MRI to identify other demyelinating lesions suggestive of multiple sclerosis. Treatment involves oral steroids, with most patients experiencing good visual recovery.
The document discusses optic neuritis, including its causes, symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment. Specifically, it notes that optic neuritis is characterized by loss of central vision, visual acuity, and color perception, along with an afferent pupil defect. It can be caused by conditions like multiple sclerosis, infections, granulomatous diseases, and others. Diagnosis involves visual field testing, color vision testing, and MRI imaging of the optic nerve. Treatment focuses on corticosteroids to reduce inflammation acutely and prevent future attacks.
- There is often a misdiagnosis of optic nerve diseases such as optic neuritis and ischemic optic neuropathy, leading to delays in appropriate treatment.
- Common causes of optic neuropathy include glaucoma, optic neuritis, and ischemic optic neuropathy. Each has distinguishing histories, exam findings, and visual field defects.
- However, atypical presentations can occur and lead to misdiagnoses, highlighting the importance of a thorough history and exam to identify alternative causes.
This document discusses and compares working conditions in Germany and Hong Kong. It provides two case studies, one on Café de Coral in Hong Kong withdrawing a pay increase after public backlash, and one on railway workers in Germany striking over wage negotiations. It then analyzes the roles of government, employers, and employees in determining working conditions in each location. In Germany, the government prioritizes full employment, while employers and employees engage in collective bargaining and codetermination. In Hong Kong, the government defers to the market and employers/employees make individual decisions without collective representation.

We’re talking about Vedic Meditation, a form of meditation that has been around for at least 5,000 years. Back then, the people who lived in the Indus Valley, now known as India and Pakistan, practised meditation as a fundamental part of daily life. This knowledge that has given us yoga and Ayurveda, was known as Veda, hence the name Vedic. And though there are some written records, the practice has been passed down verbally from generation to generation.

With 3 Ideas To Prevent It!

2. Today I'm going to share with you the leading optic neuritis symptoms and some ideas
on preventing this problem. All around you right now there are all kinds of harmful
germs and viruses that want to harm you. The only thing that is stopping them is the
immune system. What if this immune system instead of attacking bad guys actually
started to attack healthy tissues or organs? When this happens it is known as an
autoimmune disease and optic neuritis is this type of disease?
In your eye you have something known as a optic nerve and it's job is to send the
information from the outside world to your brain. With optic neuritis this nerve becomes
inflamed. When something becomes inflamed it means that the body is trying to heal an
injury. If you sprain your ankle it will probably get red, swollen and it will be painful.
The bad news with inflammation is that it can damage healthy tissues and this is a big
reason it's not good.
Therefore it is of no surprise that pain is one of the most common symptoms of optic
neuritis. This pain could worsen with eye movement. Next is going to be vision loss,
which will probably happen. Some people may lose a lot of their vision, while others
might not lose any. Colors may appear less bright and a person could also see flashing
lights. Sadly in some cases vision loss can be permanent, which is why preventing this
disease is such a great idea.
The bad news is that many of the smartest minds in the health field are not exactly sure
what causes this disease, but a disease known as multiple sclerosis where nerves become
inflamed has been linked to it. According to Wikipidea more than 50% of people with
multiple sclerosis or MS will get optic neuritis. Two big causes of MS are a lack of
vitamin D and infection from a virus. Someone can prevent optic neuritis by taking a
quality multivitamin and building up their immune system with herbal remedies. Other
ideas that could help is consuming antioxidants, drinking green tea, coffee and anything
else that helps the nervous system.
To sum everything up the leading optic neuritis symptoms include vision loss, less vivid
colors, flashing lights and pain. A person can prevent this disease with a multivitamin,
herbal remedies that improve the immune system, antioxidants, green tea and coffee.
Supplements and alternative medicine can be confusing and even harmful. Make things
really simple and give your body a HUGE edge by viewing a free video guide I created
