[old] Presentation Of My Projekt Aalborg Fall 2007Charles Seger
This document discusses folksonomies and the challenges of using them to understand user behavior. It presents the speaker's background and research exploring collaborative tagging as part of user information behavior. The speaker seeks to qualitatively investigate user indexing and how registration of tagging results can be combined with a more qualitative approach to better understand user information interaction.
User to User: Browsing folksonomies through other users profiles Charles Seger
The document summarizes a presentation about using folksonomies, which are user-generated tags applied to information objects, to browse information through other users' profiles. It discusses how users navigate folksonomies by browsing tags and other users. A case study examines a folksonomy of quilting enthusiasts on Delicious.com and finds that tags in user profiles can be used to associate similar users and support social navigation. The goal of the PhD project is to better understand how users employ folksonomies and develop techniques to support users' information behavior.
Præsentation til Forskningensdøgn 2009: Novo NordiskCharles Seger
My presentation (in Danish) for The Research Festival 2009, where I talked about social navigation and folksonomies in organizations. I was lucky enough to be invited to present at Novo Nordisk.
This document summarizes research into collaborative music making using multi-touch surfaces. It describes a study with 12 participants testing a simple music prototype. The study found that the prototype facilitated conversation and group productivity between participants, even for novices. It also provided evidence that roles were shared between participants rather than one person dominating. Future work could improve responsiveness and add both shared and individual controls to better support experts and novices.
