This document presents a project proposal for the design of a low-cost vehicle geolocation and automation prototype using open source tools. It belongs to Daniel José Castro Naranjo's graduation project for obtaining a degree in Networking and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Guayaquil, Ecuador. The project aims to provide security to lower-middle class vehicles through remote control and monitoring capabilities. It will use technologies like Arduino, GPS modules, GSM modules and a smartphone app for its implementation.
