Operation Eagle aims to recover and restore a WWII aircraft from the bottom of Lake Michigan to tell the story of Naval Air Station Glenview (NASG). NASG was the only location where over 15,000 pilots qualified on carriers during WWII. The recovered aircraft would be displayed at the NASG Museum to educate future generations about NASG's role in training pilots and its contribution to the war effort. The project aims to raise $2.4 million to fund the aircraft recovery, restoration, and construction of a new display facility.
