This document provides teaching on depending on the Holy Spirit when witnessing to others. It emphasizes that while preparation is important, ultimately believers must rely on the Holy Spirit's power and guidance. The Holy Spirit empowers believers and gives them the boldness and words to share their faith. Believers should be continually filled with the Spirit to effectively witness at all times. Allowing the Spirit to work through them and speak truth in love will enable believers to lead many to Christ.

When we preach, if our goal is to make others understand the content of the preaching according to the world’s methods. Is this God’s will? In this chapter, we will discuss from God’s will, from salvation, to love, to the establishment of faith, because only by increasing everyone’s faith can there be the possibility of indwelling Jesus Christ. Only in this way we can achieve preaching purpose. This chapter is to try to explain how it can increase everyone’s confidence through preaching.

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)
Exactly how are we be led by the Holy Spirit?
Exactly how does the Holy Spirit communicate to all of us in this life?
If the Bible calls the Holy Spirit our Guide and Teacher in this life, then this means He will attempt to communicate to all of us from time to time.
Otherwise we will never be able to pick up from Him exactly what He is trying to teach us or tell us to do.
The very first thing we need to know if we want to learn how to be led by the Holy Spirit is that
We can develop a direct personal relationship with Him
Just like you already have with God and Jesus.
Here are two key verses from the apostle Paul telling us that we are allowed to have direct communication and direct fellowship with the Holy Spirit Himself:
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.” (2 Corinthians 13:14)
“Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit …” (Phillippians 2:1)

Jesus died so that all who believe in Him can receive the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Jesus tells us that if anyone asks to receive the Holy Spirit he will receive. The Holy Spirit is a good gift from the Father. Why would anyone hesitate to receive a good gift from God that Jesus suffered and died to make available.
Many people doubt that the Bible can be understood, and even if they accept that we can gleam broad principles from it, they may doubt that we can ultimately understand it well enough to draw lines of fellowship. This examines this practical question of faith, assuring us that we can understand the Bible and even understand it alike!

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

ONE DAY EVANGELISM COURSE - Depending on the Holy Spirit.pptx
1. ONE DAY EVANGELISM INTENSIVE
TRAINING COURSE
Teaching Ten:
Depending on the Holy Spirit
2. • It is good to learn as much as we can about how to
evangelise more effectively but the most important thing is
to depend on the enabling power of the Holy Spirit when
witnessing to others
The Apostle Paul wrote, “I was with you in weakness, in fear,
and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching
were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in
demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith
should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”
(1 Corinthians 2:3-4)
3. Jesus Himself said,
“Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate
beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a
mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be
able to contradict or resist.” (Luke 21:14-15)
4. • THE BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS A BELIEVER
TO WITNESS TO OTHERS EFFECTIVELY (Refer to Appendix
for a detailed teaching on the Baptism in the Holy Spirit)
In the book of Acts we read, “But you shall receive power
when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be
witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria,
and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
5. • The Holy Spirit gives us both the boldness and wisdom
that we need to share our faith with others
• For those people who are by nature more shy they will
find that as they begin sharing their faith with others
the Holy Spirit will put the words in their mouth as to
what to say
6. • I always believe in the importance of preparing for my
messages and continually learning how to become more
effective in sharing my faith with others
• Often I will look at passages of Scripture in the bible and
spend time working through in my mind how I can
effectively share the wisdom in these scriptures with
those that I will be witnessing to and preaching to at our
evangelism outreaches
• But once I begin sharing my faith with someone I allow
the Holy Spirit to direct my conversations
7. • As I listen to the person that I am witnessing to, I also
listen to what the Holy Spirit may be putting on my heart
to share with that person
• God knows how best to reach out to people with His love
and will give us the keys to help us to see someone
coming to faith in Christ
• The right questions or a word of knowledge given by the
Holy Spirit to us will often be the way in which a person
begins to open up their heart to Jesus Christ
8. • It is the Holy Spirit ministering through us that will
convict people of their need to come to Christ as we share
the gospel with them
Jesus Himself said, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to
your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the
Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him
to you. And when He has come, He will convict the world of
sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because
they do not believe in Me; of righteousness, because I go to
My Father and you see Me no more; of judgment,
because the ruler of this world is judged.” (John 16:7-11)
9. • Being led by the Holy Spirit as to who to witness to is also
a great key to bearing much fruit in our Christian walk
• God knows the hearts of all people and who are ready to
receive Christ into their hearts and lives
• It is in witnessing to those who the Holy Spirit directs us to
that will enable us to lead many to Christ
10. • It is important to pray for God to open up opportunities for
us to share our faith with our friends and family members
• There is always a right time to share our faith with our
family members and friends (We need to be sensitive to
the leading of the Holy Spirit)
• As we look for opportunities to share our faith we need to
also demonstrate what it is to be a Christian by the way
that we live our lives and love others (Lifestyle Evangelism)
• When the time is right to share our faith with a person it is
so often just minutes before they come to Christ
11. • When we allow the Holy Spirit to minister through us in
our witnessing to others we will always find that we
minister the truth of the gospel in a way that is
ungirded by love
• The Apostle Paul emphasised the importance of
“...speaking the truth in love...“ (Ephesians 4:15)
12. • BEING CONTINUALLY FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT IS A
KEY TO BEING EFFECTIVE IN WITNESSING TO OTHERS ON
A CONSISTENT BASIS (In season and out of season)
The Apostle Paul wrote, “And do not be drunk with wine,
in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,”
(Ephesians 5:18)
13. • In the book of Acts we see that after being threatened
for speaking and teaching in the name of Jesus, the
disciples turned to God in prayer and were filled afresh
by the Holy Spirit.
• After this they again began to speak the word of God
with boldness. We see this in Acts 4:31
“And when they had prayed, the place where they were
assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled
with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with
boldness.” (Acts 4:31)
14. • So a great key to being an effective soul winner is that we
depend upon the Holy Spirit when witnessing to and
preaching the gospel to others
I will finish with the words of the Apostle Paul,
“For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and
earth is named, that He would grant you, according to the
riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through
His Spirit in the inner man,” (Ephesians 3:14-16)
15. “that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you,
being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to
comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length
and depth and height - to know the love of Christ which
passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness
of God.” (Ephesians 3:17-19)
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly
above all that we ask or think, according to the power that
works in us,” (Ephesians 3:20)
