The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. Rules & Guidelines Zoom Etiquette ● When logging in, edit your username to: participant ID + # + first name ● Please stay on mute unless commenting or asking a question ● Please use the hand feature or chat for zoom lectures unless asked not to for certain events ● For events like Finance, Coding, and Job Market, please make sure to have your video OFF! ● For events where we need to see you (Fitness Fun), please make sure to have your video ON ○ If someone wants to walk-by, you can turn off the video temporarily ● Please be on time to each zoom session ● Some zoom sessions may be recorded if you are unable to attend
- 3. Rules & Guidelines Content Submissions ● Be honest. Some submissions will require participant honesty. ● Be on time. Don’t wait until the last minute and submit your efforts. Google Classroom will auto-close after the deadline. ● Read the requirements carefully. If you have any questions, email youth@mymasjid.ca ● Don’t cheat. Do not use other people’s work and say that it is yours! ● Make sure to fill out everything in Google Classroom. We will try to ensure multiple uploads are allowed before the deadline.

If you feel like didn’t get the points you deserve - email youth@mymasjid.ca ● Make sure you use your participant ID and do not fill in for any friends ● Our Points Tracking system will be available to view from W1 - W5 (it is hidden for W6) ● Awards Ceremony will be held on August 22nd at 6pm ● Have fun!
