Ohio Health Information Technology Day was held on February 11, 2015 at the Ohio Statehouse Atrium in Columbus, Ohio. The event had 145 people registered for the Statehouse event and 60 registered for the HIMSS Innovation Center event. There were 61 legislative visits scheduled. The day included bi-directional streaming video between the Statehouse and Innovation Center, a photo contest on Twitter, and training via Webex. Speakers included representatives from state government, HealthBridge, CliniSync, and Cuyahoga County. The event advocated for policies to increase health information exchange and support for health IT jobs and workforce development in Ohio.

6. OHIT Day Policy Asks
• Support policies requiring private and public healthcare-related
entities including Ohio Medicaid to exchange data using the
HIEs in Ohio and to provide data to the HIEs.
• Support policies to increase HIE utilization to support
coordination of care across the care continuum in Ohio
consistent with national standards.
• Support the funding of health IT jobs and workforce
development programs needed to implement the health IT
objectives and regulatory changes in Ohio.
