This document lists candidates provisionally selected for admission to PhD and MTech programs at the National Institute of Technology Rourkela. It provides the candidates' names, application IDs, selected departments, fellowship amounts if applicable, and any remarks. The candidates are advised to report by July 16-20, 2012 with required documents for admission, including original certificates and mark sheets, proof of age, GATE score if applicable, college leaving certificate, migration certificate, sponsorship documents if applicable, and admission and mess fees in the form of demand drafts.

report to the Head of the department for admission by July 16 – 20 , 2012 with all documents mentioned below as well as in the remarks column:
1) Original and one photocopy of all degree certificates and mark sheets/grade cards starting from H.S.C.
2) Original Certificate for proof of age.
3) GATE Score card (if qualified).
4) College leaving/Transfer Certificate in original.
5) Migration Certificate in original.
6) Sponsorship Certificate (if not submitted), Relieving letter from sponsor, sanction of leave (three years for PhD and two years for M.Tech(Res)), Identity Card/Salary
Slip in case of sponsored candidates only.
7) Candidates selected under Local Sponsored category need to bring all documents mentioned in (6) above except relieving letter and sanction of leave. Along with
their responsibility in the parent organization, they need to come to NIT Rourkela for research work for at least 120 days and 500 hrs. per semester including
Saturdays, Sundays and other holidays. Such candidates are required to bring a certification from their employer regarding the arrangement made in the parent
organization on the flexibility in work responsibility to facilitate research work at NIT Rourkela.
8) Relieving letter for all candidates who are working.
9) Admission fee of Rs.13,750/- (Rs.11,250/- for SC/ST candidates) in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Director, NIT, Rourkela, payable at any bank in
Rourkela.
10) Mess Advance of Rs.17,500/- in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of Chief Warden of Halls, NIT, Rourkela, payable at any bank in Rourkela.
11) Three Passport size coloured photographs.

For the Fellowship candidates it may be noted that the financial support is initially for a period of one year and may be renewed for subsequent years on satisfactory
performance. Further, the fellowship will be awarded only to full time students and no permission to stay outside Halls will be granted.
After paying the required fees in the Institute Cash Counter they are to report to the Head of the department. The Head of the department will give them an
opportunity to interact with all faculty members of the department, who are available for supervising Ph.D./M.Tech.(Res) students. The candidates are required to
convey their area of interest and preference of supervisor to HOD after meeting faculty members in their area of interest. The HOD will assign a faculty member as
supervisor after taking into consideration the preference of incoming students and faculty members.
On arrival in NIT campus they are advised to report to the Chief Warden of Halls for temporary accommodation. They are required to present a copy of this letter so
that Room will be provided without charge for a maximum period of one week. However, they have to pay meal charges.
