2. OD Practitioner Contract with Future Soft Corporation
Future Soft is the Software development corporation which has a market share of 60% in the
software industry. In early 90s the company has a market share of 85% in the software market
industry but due to the increase in competitors this market share is decrease down to 60%.
The CEO of the company calls an urgent meeting of higher officials to bring back its market
share of the company. In this meeting an OD practitioner is also called on for the discussion.
After the meeting the CEO, Chairman & head of different departments approve that OD
practitioner has vast knowledge about the software market& is qualified to bring the
corporation in the right path.
The OD practitioner then decides to prepare a necessary documentation for the planning of
company. In this document it is estimated that how the decisions are implemented, what is
schedule of meetings, who reports to whom, in what fields the company is far away from the
current market, training & workshops about new technologies, removal of those division which
are only just a waste for company.
After this documentation & reporting meetings & conferences are held by OD practitioner to
extract the current situation of the company these information are extracted from the different
heads of divisions of the company and also between OD professor & CEO.
After certain meetings the OD professor talked with the CEO. The OD professor put its final
results that company loses its market share because it only focuses on developing the
Operating systems for computers but according to current market conditions competitors goes
beyond the operating system and introduce its software for Mobiles, Smartphones & Tablet
computers. The CEO argues that we cannot put our efforts in every battle of market we should
improve our current edge in developing & improving Operating system software but OD
professor replied that if we does not put our efforts in differentiation we can’t survive in the
market because now a days technology have a fast pace & customers are adapting it
immediately. The CEO worried and said how we mold a company into multitasking? OD
Professor responded that first project is started in which improving current Operating system
for PCs & developing a Smartphones & Tablet Operating System. Then if this goes successful
then we take a next step ahead to develop a gaming console to take a step in the Gaming
Console Market. The OD professor shared the knowledge, learning & experience. Both CEO &
OD professor are agreed to work and the OD Professor write an initial letter that is considered
as first contract.

First of all I really appreciate for giving a time to discuss on Design & Strategies of Future Soft
Corp. The current market has advance technological challenges & to manage those challenges
our working efforts together bring some new ideas to drive the corporation in a right way. I
promised to put my knowledge & efforts to tackle down the challenges.
From the discussion I have gone through the results that:
Company is only putting stress on developing Operating system for PCs for early 90s this
strategy is very successful but for the time being this is strategy wont workout.
The company needs that kind of structure that not only fulfills current need but also
applied for several years.
First the 2-4 years plan was made that bring some changes & indicate the output.
When primary plan goes successful further implementations are applied
I am giving you the proposal with my recommendation to take the Future Soft Corp.in
the line of new technological era.
Process Proposal
Design a Team:
Several teams should design for different divisions i.e. OS Division, Mobile Division,
Entertainment Division, R&D, Sales & Marketing, HR, Finance. For developing those teams it
should be taken a care that employees are interested in their desired fields or not.
Vision, Learn & Diagnose
Company’s vision is the Future Soft Corp. imagined in 12 years a successful software
giant in the market where every software & hardware driven by future soft& every device
works seamlessly together.
Corporation also focuses on the learning of the employees about the design new technologies
& structure of the organization.
Every product that is produced should be diagnosed & every structure designed should be
compared with the current strength & weakness.
4. Action Plan
The first 2-4 years action plan should be identified as recommended structure for corporation.
Responsibilities are assigned that should be accountable;Implementation, Monitoring,
Correction & Evaluation should also a key part of the structure.
