Kao što je i kolegica prošli puta pokazala, neki sadržaji ne sadrže komičnu notu koja privlači ljude, pa tako i božićni virali. Slike Djeda Božićnjaka nisu smiješne, a opet se brzo šire internetom i pregleda ih velik broj ljudi (kao i glazbeni videi). Danas i svatko svojim mobitelom može snimiti ,slikati neki događaj pa se on odmah može plasirati na Internet ili dijeliti butem bluetootha te postati viralan.
Najčešće video (…) postane viralan neočekivano, pogotovo kada se radi o nekoj privatnoj snimci. Prvo se počinje sheerati među prijateljima i obitelji, a kasnije se nenadamo prošiti na čitav svijet. Puno takvih primjera imamo među božićnim viralima, pogotovo u SAD-u- lampice na kućama…
Prije nego što su se pojavile stranice poput You Tubea, Funny or die, slike i videi su postali viralni putem e-maila. Tako je jedan od prvih viralnih videa božićni video The Spirit Of Christmas iz 1995. SoChrist. Zapravo sadržava 2 videa- Jesus vs. Santa i Jesus vs. Frosty. Ti su videi preteča South Parka, a J.vs.Santa počinje pjevanjem božićne pjesme (koju pjevaju 4 dječaka) te se odjednom pojavi Isus koji ih zamoli da ga odvedu u trgovački centar. Tamo sreće Djeda Božićnjaka te oni počinju svađu jer Isus smatra da ga «vrijeđaju» zbog toga što ne slave njegovo rođenje, već poklanjaju poklone. Djed Božićnjak naravno tvrdi da je Božić dan darivanja. Na kraju dječaci smire situaciju izjavljujući da je Božić vrijeme kada trebamo biti dobri jedni prema drugima. Isus i D.B. se pomire. Taj su video napravili zbog nagovora Foxova producenta te su ga slali svojim prijateljima. Nakon nekoliko mjeseci, video je došao i do Comedy Central (cable network) koji su iz zaposlili da osmisle South Park.
Neke od viral stranica su Funny or Die, Google video, Fail Blog, Collegehumor.com i naravno YouTube. Često zbog takvih videa koji se prošire cijelim svijetom, dolazi do fenomena Internet celebrities, tj. ljudi koji su postali poznati zbog plasiranja svog videa (najčešće na You Tube)- i to potvrđuje da se nikad ne zna što će privući publiku i koliko će pojedini videi/slike imati pogleda.
Da ne bi ispalo kako virali služe samo zabavi, 2007. je jedan američki učitelj osmislio TeacherTube gdje učitelji diljem svijeta mogu objavljivati edukativne videe.
Osim toga, u kampanji za američkog predsjednika u SAD-u 2008., kandidati su prepoznali mogućnost širenja svoje poruke putem videa na YouTubeu, a kod nas je to slučaj sa Kukuriku koalicijom o čem smo već slušali na ovom predavanju.
Mislim da je važno spomenuti jednu kategoriju u viralnom «svijetu», a to je viral marketing. Danas često videi koji se najviše gledaju imaju neku komercijalnu vrijednost- primjer je Old Spice. Što se tiče božićnih virala, najpoznatija je Coca Cola. Njeni videi sa Coca Cola kamionom pogledani su preko 3 milijuna puta. Svima su poznati i polarni medvjedi u reklami za Coca Colu. Najvažnije je prenijeti pravu poruku, određenoj/pravoj publici u pravo vrijeme.

Uz to mogu spomenuti i prošlogodišnji video za pjesmu Christmas Light grupe Coldplay koji je pregledan više od 10 mil. puta na YouTubeu.
