Severe heat waves have doubled in India in the past 15 years, but most affected states do not have plans to prevent deaths from extreme heat. The frequency of heat waves and severe heat waves has increased particularly in the last two decades due to climate change and urban heat islands. While some states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have started heat action plans, most do not, and heat wave deaths continue to rise in India each year.

The Maersk Peregrina is the largest FPSO (floating production, storage and offloading) project ever undertaken by Maersk at a cost of 7 billion DKK.
