This document describes an algorithm that uses Google Maps routes, NYPD collision data, and PlaceMeter pedestrian traffic data to calculate normalized route scores and identify the top 10 riskiest intersections for pedestrians in New York City. The algorithm takes into account pedestrian injuries and fatalities at each intersection and normalizes the scores based on neighborhood pedestrian activity levels. A heat map is also generated to show areas of high pedestrian activity across the city.
