Working with data is a challenge for many organizations. Nonprofits in particular may need to collect and analyze sensitive, incomplete, and/or biased historical data about people. In this talk, Dr. Cori Faklaris of UNC Charlotte provides an overview of current AI capabilities and weaknesses to consider when integrating current AI technologies into the data workflow. The talk is organized around three takeaways: (1) For better or sometimes worse, AI provides you with “infinite interns.” (2) Give people permission & guardrails to learn what works with these “interns” and what doesn’t. (3) Create a roadmap for adding in more AI to assist nonprofit work, along with strategies for bias mitigation.

Nurturing the Potential of Girls in Marginalized Communities
1. Nurturing the Potential of Girls in Marginalized Communities
Many young girls from underserved communities face a myriad of challenges that hinder their growth
and potential. It is imperative to prioritize their protection and empowerment to ensure a promising
future for them.
One critical aspect is safeguarding their physical and emotional well-being. Millions of girls are severely
affected by issues like child marriage, human trafficking, and gender-based violence. By implementing
and enforcing protective measures, we can shield them from such harm and allow them to thrive in a
safe environment.
Education serves as a powerful catalyst for change. It equips girls with the knowledge, skills, and
confidence they need to break free from the cycle of poverty. Ensuring access to quality education is
essential; it not only expands their horizons but also opens doors to a multitude of opportunities.
Additionally, providing vocational training and skill-building programs can empower these girls to
become self-sufficient and economically independent. This not only enhances their own well-being but
also contributes to the economic development of their communities.
Access to healthcare is another critical factor. By ensuring that young girls have regular access to
healthcare services, we can address and prevent health-related challenges that may affect their
progress. This includes providing reproductive health education and resources, which are essential for
their overall well-being.
2. Equally important is fostering a supportive and inclusive community. Creating spaces where girls can
express themselves freely, voice their opinions, and participate in decision-making processes empowers
them to become leaders and change-makers in their own right.
CRY America is making a profound impact on safeguarding and empowering young girls in marginalized
communities. Through their dedicated initiatives, they ensure access to education, healthcare, and
protection, providing a promising future for these girls. Your support can amplify their efforts. Join
hands with CRY America to help secure the future of these vulnerable girls. Visit their website to donate
today and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
There are a few 501c3 nonprofit organizations that help protect children in need. It is time we uplift
underserved communities, foster sustainable development, and ensure long-term progress. Donate to
charity CRY America to help make a difference!
