Summary
The Heavy Equipment Operator performs various duties on construction projects usually in an
operator’s capacity transferring from one task to another where demands require the worker with
varied experience and ability to work without close supervision
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Adhere to and follow all safety rules and regulations of MSHA/OSHA/DOT and Pennsy Supply, Inc.
 Conduct daily safety assignments (area inspections, pre-shifts, JSA’s, TRACK, etc.)
 Drives/operates grader, widener, excavator, gradall, loader, broom, tractor, pan, dozer, dirt roller, pay hauler,
scraper, asphalt roller and or paver
 Operates diesel or gasoline powered straight and or articulated, rubber tired and/or track mounted, tractor type
industrial vehicle which may be equipped with a hydraulically powered bucket, scoop, blade or broom which is
used in various processes in the construction, repair and maintenance of streets, roads/highways and runways
such as moving material, loading trucks, sweeping, grading and leveling of earth, aggregates, asphalt, concrete
and other materials
 Start engine, shift gears, presses pedals and moves levers to drive vehicles
 Performs routine maintenance on equipment, lubricating, fueling and cleaning
 Performs and records daily inspection of equipment as directed by equipment maintenance department
 Other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
 High school Diploma or equivalent
 5 years of related experience/training preferred
 Must pass a drug screen and criminal background check
 Ability to do basic math
Shift: Dayshift, Monday-Friday. Must be able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as operationally necessary.
