Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey, located on the borders of Iran, Armenia, and Nakchivan, is traditionally considered the landing place of Noah's ark after the biblical flood, even though Noah's ark has not been proven to have existed. In Islam, Noah is considered a major prophet who was ordered by God to build an ark and gather animal pairs after people became sinful and idol worshippers, ignoring Noah's call to worship God alone, including his own son. To commemorate the provision of food during the flood, Muslims make a pudding called aşure every year that Noah first made by gathering all available food together.
