To create an NKO account, visit www.nko.navy.mil and click "Register as a new user" under the login box. You will then provide information to set up your account and create a username. Your password must be at least 14 characters long and contain a number, uppercase letter, lowercase letter, and special character. Finally, select a community and your NKO account is ready to access online resources from any internet connection.

1. On any computer with
an internet connection go
to www.nko.navy.mil
2. Under the log-in box
click the link to “Register
as a new user”.
3. A new window will
open and you'll need to
provide some
information to set up
your account.
4. Your username will
be created.
5. Then you get to create a
password:
-14 characters long
-at least 1 number
-at least 1 uppercase
-at least 1 lower case
-at least 1 special
character (&*^%, etc)
6. Select a community. Don't
see a community you fit?
Choose your Naval Region or
your NOSC. You can always
update it later
Once you have a username and password you can use NKO anywhere with an
internet connection. Tutor.com, audiobooks, and more can be found on the Reference
Tab at the top right corner of every NKO screen.
