Students in Guimares hold Nicolinas festivities in honor of Saint Nicolau de
Mira.The oldest mention of the Nicolinas Festival comes from 1664, the year
that the Capela de Saint Nicolau in Guimarães was finished.They normally begin
on November 29th and finish on December 7th.The Festival's format includes
several "activities" for students to participate in throughout these days. Nicoline
Numbers are what they're called.

“Moinas”
“Moinas” are a combination of play
rehearsals and a procession that leaves
