The first 365 day calendar is made by Nick Donais. Once upon a time in 2400 BCE, two friends named Paul and Charles decided to create a calendar to help people keep track of the date. They devised month and day names and created a 12-month calendar with rows and columns to represent days and months, with some months having 30 or 31 days and others having 29 days. Paul and Charles spent a few days making their calendar and then distributed copies to the whole village.

2. Introduction
• The ancient Egyptian calendar was invented
over 5000 years ago, (2400 BCE). It was
originally based on a cycle of the 12 months,
which the Egyptians grouped into three
seasons of four months each with the rise and
fall of the waters of the Nile.

3. Once upon a time there were two best friends named Paul and Charles, it was the year
2400 BCE. One day Paul said, “Hey Charles, we should make something with days and months
Because people are always saying they wish they had an organized way of knowing what day or
month it is.

4. Charles said, “Ya, that’s a great idea Paul, but first we should make names for the days of the
week and the days of the months of the year.” So Paul and Charles thought and thought and
thought some more and then they finally came up with 7 names for the days of the week and
12 names for the months of the year.

5. Then Charles said, “We have names for the months and the days of the weeks, but
how are we going to organize this calendar?

6. So they thought and they thought again, and after a while of thinking,
Paul said, “I have an idea, lets make a calendar with 7 squares going horizontally,
and make 4 squares vertically for some of the months. Some months will have 31
days, some months will have 30 days, and some other months will have 29 days.

7. Charles said, “ Ya that’s a great idea, I will get something to draw on and I will do
the first six months, January to June, and you will do July to December, now let’s
get to work we have a lot to do.

8. So Charles and Paul worked for a few days making a calendar, then when they were done, they
made more calendars for the village.

9. So they got every one in the village to come outside and they gave every one in the village
a calendar, and they all lived happily ever after. THE END
