This document provides guidance from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) on preventing cardiovascular disease at the population level in England. It contains recommendations for policy and practice, discusses the public health need by outlining cardiovascular disease as a major health issue in the UK, and considers factors related to prevention efforts such as health inequalities and cost-effectiveness. The recommendations target national, regional and local governments, the NHS, industry and other organizations to implement strategies across multiple sectors to address major risk factors for cardiovascular disease like smoking, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and excess alcohol consumption through policy changes, health promotion initiatives and environmental modifications.
Smoking is a major cause of preventable illness and death in England. It disproportionately impacts poorer communities and contributes to health inequalities. Quitting smoking significantly reduces health risks, but support is needed to successfully stop. This guidance aims to optimize smoking cessation services and support to help more people quit tobacco use.

The document provides tips on starting a physical activity routine and maintaining it over time for long-term heart health benefits. It also discusses different types of physical activities and intensity levels.
This document provides guidelines for managing diabetes in pregnancy from preconception to the postnatal period. Key recommendations include:
- Diagnosing gestational diabetes based on specific fasting and post-meal blood glucose levels.
- Providing intensive antenatal care and monitoring for women with diabetes, including regular appointments and blood glucose targets.
- Scheduling induction of labour or caesarean delivery between 37+0 and 38+6 weeks for women with type 1 or 2 diabetes, and delivering women with gestational diabetes by 40+6 weeks.
- Testing women diagnosed with gestational diabetes 6-13 weeks after birth to exclude ongoing diabetes.

This document provides a summary and recommendations from a program manager regarding recycling at Gustavus Adolphus College. It includes the following key points:
1. Historical recycling and waste disposal data is analyzed, showing trends in expenses, revenues, and tonnages for different materials over 20 years. However, there is not enough building-level data to draw strong correlations.
2. A 3-step recommendation process is proposed to improve recycling, starting with implementing uniform bin signage and systems across campus, then customizing the bins based on waste audits and analysis, and finally boosting education efforts.
3. The first recommendation is to create a uniform bin system with clear, consistent signage to reduce confusion

These Guidelines have been produced as part of the OECD Better Life Initiative, a pioneering project launched in 2011, with the objective to measure society’s progress across eleven domains of well-being, ranging from jobs, health and housing, through to civic engagement and the environment.
These Guidelines represent the first attempt to provide international recommendations on collecting, publishing, and analysing subjective well-being data. They provide guidance on collecting information on people's evaluations and experiences of life, as well as on collecting “eudaimonic” measures of psychological well-being. The Guidelines also outline why measures of subjective well-being are relevant for monitoring and policy making, and why national statistical agencies have a critical role to play in enhancing the usefulness of existing measures. They identify the best approaches for measuring, in a reliable and consistent way, the various dimensions of subjective well-being, and provide guidance for reporting on such measures. The Guidelines also include a number of prototype survey modules on subjective well-being that national and international agencies can use in their surveys.

This report analyzes 90 Care Quality Commission inspection reports from 2015 to assess how effectively the statutory duty of candour is being regulated and implemented in NHS hospitals in England. The duty of candour requires open and honest communication with patients when certain patient safety incidents occur. The analysis found that while most reports mentioned the duty of candour, the level of analysis was often superficial. Some reports identified issues like a lack of staff understanding or non-compliance. The report concludes more robust monitoring and enforcement is still needed to ensure proper implementation of the duty of candour.
CAH has worked with front-line organizations in Estonia, Mozambique and South Africa to prepare analytic case studies of three outstanding initiatives that have scaled up the provision of health services to adolescents. The South African case study is of the Evolution of the National Adolescent Friendly Clinic Initiative which was an integral part of the high profile loveLife programme. The Mozambican case study was of the progress made by the multisectoral Geraçao Biz programme, a key component of which was youth-friendly health services, in moving from inception to large scale. The Estonian case study was that of the nationwide spread of the Amor youth clinic network, led by the Sexual Health Association in that country.
This document discusses improving infection prevention and control in Ethiopian health facilities through supportive supervision visits. C19 nice type 2 diabetes in adults management 2015Diabetes for all
This document provides guidelines for managing type 2 diabetes in adults. Some of the key recommendations include:
1. Offering structured education to patients at diagnosis and annually to teach self-management skills. Education programs should be evidence-based and tailored to individual needs.
2. Integrating dietary advice with an individualized management plan including lifestyle changes like increased physical activity and weight loss.
3. Adding medications if lifestyle changes do not lower blood pressure below 140/80 mmHg (or 130/80 mmHg for those with organ damage), and monitoring blood pressure monthly until it is controlled.
4. Involving patients in decisions about individual HbA1c targets and intensifying drug treatment if levels rise
The Department published the fourth annual report on progress in delivering the End of Life Care Strategy, which was published in 2008.
The End of Life Care strategy states that, wherever possible, people should be able to spend their last days in the place of their choosing.
Most people say that they would prefer to get this support in their own home. For people who move to live in a care home, that becomes their home.
Since the launch of the End of Life Care (EoLC) strategy in 2008, the 4th annual report confirms that almost 30,000 more people have been able to die where they usually live - at home, or in a care home.
Vietnam 2013 General Health Accounts and Disease Expenditures with Sub-Analys...HFG Project
System of Health Accounts (SHA) is a useful tool; through analysis of the system of health financing indicators, it helps to describe systematically the flow of the financial resources relating to the use, the consumption of the health goods and services across the country. In Vietnam, the Ministry of Health has developed a system of national health accounts for the years from 1998 to 2012, based on the widely-disseminated technical documents of each period, to serve the study requirement of the policy-makers on health financing.

This document provides detailed methods and assumptions used to estimate the annual cost and impact of implementing HIV programs proposed in a new investment framework. It describes how the number of people in need was estimated, coverage targets were set, costs of specific program activities were calculated, and an epidemic projection model was used to assess impact. The goal is to estimate resources needed to achieve universal access to HIV treatment, care and support by 2015 through this strategic approach.
This document provides detailed methods and assumptions used to estimate the annual cost of implementing HIV programs under a proposed new investment framework. The framework aims to achieve universal access to HIV treatment, care, and support by 2015 through scaling up a small number of basic program activities to reach key populations, implementing critical interventions to create an enabling environment, and supporting related health and development efforts. Costing methods and projections are described for treatment, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, harm reduction for injecting drug users, behavior change programs, and other components.
