John 3:1-21 discusses Nicodemus coming to Jesus at night and asking what he has to offer. Jesus tells Nicodemus that he needs to be born again by the Spirit to see the kingdom of God, and that God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son so that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
