IT IS MY COUNTRY Ecological Day
Winter has just ended up its reign and
early spring has removed the mystery from
melting snow. Besides the beautiful germinating
verdure, lots of garbage has been strewed around.
For that reason, we have decided to take an action
and help our nature. A short time ago, during a
sunny day, we organized an ecological day with no
litter. Our freshmen, without any hesitation, took
sacks and collected everything that had not
belonged to our nature in the park. Lots of litter
such as paper, plastic wrappings, PES bottles, and
clothing finished in those sacks that were thrown
into rubbish bins later on.
Slovakia lies between latitudes 47° and 50° N, and
longitudes 16° and 23° E.
The Slovak landscape is noted primarily for its
mountainous nature, with the Carpathian
Mountains extending across most of the northern
half of the country. Amongst these mountain
ranges are the high peaks of the Tatra
mountains.[46] To the north, close to the Polish
border, are the High Tatras which are a popular
skiing destination and home to many scenic lakes

Litva - Vilnius 12. 05. 2011 - 20. 05. 2011
I was one of the eight lucky students who
participated in Comenius school partnership
programme which was held in Vilnius, Lithuania
from 12.05. - 20.05. 2011. The major aim of the
whole project is to protect our natural heritage for
the next generation. When the day of our departure
came, we all had already been prepared, packed
and full of expectations from our upcoming
adventure in this unknown country. Firstly, we
travelled by bus to Krakow. Later on, we flew from
this town to Warsaw and then to Vilnius. By the
way, it was the first time I had flown by plane in my
life. Seeing the plane´s movements high in the
sky altogether with miniature pictures of houses
right below us, was unforgettable experience for
me.
I had been nervous about meeting with them, but
in the end, everything went ok and I was happy for
having such a great family. They were really nice to
me and helped me with my English so much. The
girl, who was hosting me in her family, was Joana.
This was the greatest experience for me to speak
English. I had just been studying English for a year
before I went to participate in this project so I was
a little bit nervous about my English. Finally, I was
surprised how much I improved during this
project. We had a great time together and when
we did not understand each other, we used Google

As soon as we arrived at the airport in Vilnius, we
started to realise that our new adventure was
about to start. We started to feel the worms in our
stomachs and nervousness. It was nice to know
that we were going to spend a few days in the new

traditions but on the other hand, we were also
afraid of our new families with whom we were
supposed to stay with the following days. We all
were fighting with two different feelings in our
bodies. Our meeting with other students and
teachers was amazing. We introduced to each
other, shared our first feelings from the journey
and after all we went to our families.During the
project, we visited some cultural and historical
places where we could see lots of beautiful things,
sculptures, sights etc.

I will keep long my memories about this trip. It
was amazing !!! From the very beginning we were
accompanied by large smiles on the faces.
Slovakian people are very friendly. The most I

Students‘ impressions from Turkey
The most impressive from the very beginning were
Turkish families. I have never seen such a warmth
and hospitality in a foreign country. What a
delicious food in Turkey!!! Especially Turkish
delights!!! We saw a lot of interesting places. But
the most memorable were Istambul and Capadokia.
Istambul is a mega city with amazing culture and
history. Capadokia is an ancient city full of
incredible historical sights about the first ages of
cristian culture. The dearest thing I have learned is
that people of different cultures and religions can
be very happy together.I find this Project very
useful and unforgettable. Adelė
If only I could repeat this journey and this project
once again!!! I had no idea that people from muslim
culture can be so friendly. We met such a
wonderful hospitality in the Turkish families and

I also improved my English, which is valuable. I
look forward to participating in another project.

About project…
This project was carried out by partners from six European countries and thei present the attitudes, motivations and behaviours of European teenagers, in
an attempt to better understand to improve their ecological culture and consequently to better preserve and appreciate the value of natural resources. This
project help them to become more active in preserving nature putting into practice the maxim to "Think Global / Act Local".
Ecological responsibility is based on the strong conviction in objectiveness of the ecological rules and in absolute prohibition of breaking these rules. We can
talk about the ecological responsibility, in case the ecological competence and culture become a regular part of individual and social life in European
countries.
This partnership increase the students` awareness for understanding that the environmental issues can be exactly the same in all countries although there
can be cultural differences.
The project promote the cooperation between different countries, exchange of experiences and respect to cultural similarities and differences. Students
and teachers will develop their skills for work in a team. It help them how to plan and do the classroom activities, using modern information and
communication technologies.
This enhance a broad understanding of European cultural diversity together with an appreciation of how communication between people and communities
can be safe, fast, efficient and rewarding.
