DESIGN STUDENT NEWS:
Naoise Ó Conchubhair a graphic designer who just
graduated in 2009 has recently been awarded the
NEWS IN
Grand Prix winning entry in the 2009 IDI Graduate
Design Awards for his work on the new, contem-
porary Gaelic typography for use in Irish language
publications,

websites and signage. He also featured in the recent
Innovation Section in the Irish Times where they
praised his new innovative approach to the design of
Irish Typography.
First year MFA student David Eager-Maher is
currently showing work at the NAG Gallery@ Cross
Gallery on Francis Street. Eager-Maher
graduated with a Ba in Fine Art Painting last year
and has exhibited widely and internationally.
Another gradute of the same class Sarah Tynan is
also currently exhibiting in a group show at the
Oonagh Young Gallery. Sarah Tynan’s practice is
informed by the uniformity and artificiality of insti-
tutional spaces and her meticulous drawings seek to
undermine, in particular, the corporate aesthetic. The
Group show ‘DELICIAS DE LA CRISIS’ runs at
the Oonagh Young Gallery until December 27th
