* Reading - Students need to know how to use their vocabulary words in context. This means that one
should be able to determine the definition of an unfamiliar word based on the words around it. Future
vocabulary assessment will be based on this concept.
* Mathematics - Here are some wonderful children’s books that can help your child with math:
Sir Cumference Series by Cindy Neuschwander and Wayne Geehan
Multiplying Menace: The Revenge Of Rumpelstiltskin by Pam Calvert and Wayne Geehan
The Journey of Al & Gebra to the Land of Algebra by Bethanie H. Tucker

* All classes
"Failing to prepare is preparing to fail." -John Wooden (1910-2010)
Being prepared is one of the most important skills we can develop not only for school, but also for work,
sports, and almost everything else in life. It is important that all students show up to class with their
assignments completed and with writing materials ready to go. It is always a good idea for every student to
have a couple of backup supplies in his or her backpack.

* 8th- We are working on our Common Craft videos under the theme "American Revolution In Plain
English." If you have a digital camera, capable of recording video, please get your parent's permission
before bringing it to school.
* I would like to use programs in the computer lab that require sound. However, I cannot to this without
headphones. If you can, please bring in headphones this week.
