Face Shape Fashion Tips
OVAL - If you have an oval face,
you have the widest range of
frame shapes to choose from.
Rectangular frames add balance
to round/oval faces. If the face is a
longer round shape, try a deeper
lens for balance and symmetry.
ROUND - Round eyeglasses will
make your face look larger if
your face shape is round. Frames
with crisp, straight lines will give
you structured facial features.
Consider semi-rimless, bow-tie, or
cat-eye frames.
RECTANGULAR - Bigger, longer
frames will make your face appear
shorter. Try avoiding frames which
look too small.
TRIANGULAR - Glasses with
pointed angles will bring out
the shape of your face. If it’s a
straighter, longer look you want,
try on some rectangular frames.
SQUARE - Circular and oval
glasses will contrast the
squareness; straight lines will
emphasize it. Darker colored
round glasses can be very harsh
with skin tones. Consider preppy
round plastic frames in honey
tortoise or beautifully designed
rimless drill mounted frames.
Additional Frame Tips
 Avoid large glasses if you have
a hairstyle with straight bangs.
 If your hairstyle has high
volume, beware of the
proportions of small frames.
 As hair and skin pigment fade
with age, consider darker colors
(pewter, chocolate, burgandy,
deep rust, dark teal, bronze).
 Super shiny finishes in gold or
silver are very dressy and need
to be minimal.
 When choosing eye glasses
frames, take into consideration
your coloring. Those with cool
skin undertones will look best
in eye glasses of a cool color,
such as blue or gray. Those with
warm skin undertones will look
best in eye glasses of a warm
color, such as gold, brown or
maroon. Neutral tones will look
great on everyone.

Towards any purchase
Fashionable sunglasses are a fun way to incorporate
some optical luxury for bright days. There are a few
things to keep in mind when choosing your sunglass-
es this season.
Shapes that complement your features are much
more important than getting the absolute biggest
sunglass style you can find.
No one likes squinting wrinkles! For the best comfort
in natural light, polarized lenses are great for reducing
glare.
We offer fantastic brands of sunwear, including:

Eyewear today is daring
Personal Style
We at Chittick Family Eye Care would like to offer
you a one-on-one eyewear makeover with a trained
eyewear specialist. During your makeover, a personal
stylist will take into account several factors including
your lifestyle and prescription, as well as your skin,
hair and eye colors in order to help you choose the
frames that are best suited for you.
During your makeover, remember not to rush. It takes
time to discover a new look. Take the time to decide
what is right for you.
Once you and your personal stylist have agreed on
your new eyewear, in just a few days you will come
back for your final fitting. We will take the time to
explain how to care for your new eyewear. Daily
activity can knock your glasses off balance. If you
need additional adjustments weeks or even months
later, just stop in any time during regular business
hours for an adjustment at no cost to you.

• Dress Glasses
• Sun (Polarized)
• Work
• Casual
Do you only have 1 pair of shoes
or 1 purse? You need variety and
a “back-up pair.”
The Right Style
The color, shape and proportion of your eyes,
eyebrows, hair, hairline, nose, cheeks and skin tone
are all physical features that should be taken into
account when choosing your frames. Eyeglasses
come in all shapes, sizes and colors and they make a
statement about you.
A good rule of thumb to determine the correct
shape for your face is to remember that narrow,
rectangular shapes elongate the face, and rounder
shapes shorten it. Sometimes the best fit is one that
combines both elements.
Faster than a face lift, the right style frame can
rejuvenate your appearance. Frames or lenses that
slightly curve up at the cheek bones are a great face
lift.
Lenses
Your lenses are part of your eyewear fashion
statement. In addition to reducing glare, especially
at night, anti-glare lenses allow your eyes to be seen.
Lens thickness can be reduced by the right lens
material prescription, and the right frame can help
avoid the dreaded“coke bottle”look.
