Comprehensive Plan Update
The Great Scott! Plan final draft is complete. The document
is currently nearly 240 pages long and contains nine chapters
on a variety of topics concerning all Scott Countians. This
plan has overhauled the language, layout, and structure from
past plans to make it more accessible and easier to use. How-
ever, many of the past Comprehensive Plans, particularly the
1991 Comprehensive Plan, contained a wealth of information
about our community, and we will continue to rely on the valuable research and
hard work from the past.
A new feature of this Comprehensive Plan will be the Implementation Chap-
ter. This chapter calls for a series of citizen-led committees to take steps on
implementing many of the Action Items identified over the past two years,
encouraging Scott Countians to get more involved and drive changes in their
community.
Please take the time to look through a draft of the Great Scott! plan on our
website at http://www.gscplanning.com/comprehensive-plan.

Mapping Your World
GIS Staff member, Whitley
Keltner, completed Kentucky
American Water’s Water Wise
Academy in November. Par-
ticipants of the program ranged
from residential customers to
community leaders. The pro-
gram met for three sessions,
once a month from September
to November. The sessions
focused on the history of water
service in the Bluegrass region,
explored day to day operations,
and promoted Kentucky Amer-
ican Water’s community in-
volvement and improvement
projects. The Water Wise
Academy is a great way to
connect with regional commu-
nity leaders. Painting a mural
on the Muddy Ford water tank
is just one of their future pro-
jects!
