This document compares New York State spending on education and public school enrollment between 2000-2010. It shows that while state spending on education increased from around $30 billion to over $50 billion during this period, public school enrollment declined slightly from around 2.8 million to 2.6 million students. The data suggests that as state education spending went up, enrollment went down slightly.
