COBIT 5 as a standard in the Jordanian banking system

Whilst a small number of projects have begun early discussions with debt finance providers, the appetite for, and understanding of, CCS in the financial sector has not been widely tested to date. With this in mind, the Global CCS Institute recently commissioned Societie Generale to take the pulse of the international finance community to determine the awareness, understanding and appetite for financing CCS projects with debt.

MiFID 2 - Report PDF Version
MiFID II is a European Union regulation that aims to improve transparency and protect investors. It was delayed until January 2018 due to technical challenges faced by regulators and firms. Hiring for MiFID II compliance has been dominated by short-term contract roles for business analysts, project managers, and developers with experience in regulatory projects like Dodd-Frank. Demand and pay for these skills remains high. While the delay provides more time, firms still face challenges to ensure full compliance by the new deadline.

The law of General Average is a legal principle where all parties involved in a sea venture must proportionally share losses that result from sacrificing part of the ship or cargo to save the whole, or from damages to the ship. Automate All the Time?
Automation provides diminishing returns when it does not make fiscal sense or provide an adequate return on investment for businesses. While increased automation can boost efficiency and reduce costs, over-automating processes simply to deploy technology often provides minimal benefits and wastes money that could be better spent elsewhere. In some cases, strategically incorporating human elements into workflows can be a more cost-effective solution than full automation. Businesses should critically assess whether automation truly meets their requirements rather than automating for automation's sake alone.
Nafta - The Real Story
The document provides an insider's perspective on the status of NAFTA negotiations. While news reports suggest the agreement must be finalized by May 15th to be considered before elections, negotiations are ongoing with 300 delegates from the US, Canada, and Mexico working daily. Formaldehyde and New Wood Product Rules
The EPA published new rules in December 2016 to reduce formaldehyde emissions from domestically produced and imported composite wood products, consistent with California's standards. As of June 2018, composite wood products must be certified and labeled as compliant with TSCA Title VI or CARB emission standards by an approved third-party certifier. Exemptions include certain hardwood plywood, structural wood panels, and wood packaging. Additional requirements begin in March 2019 including more detailed labeling and import certification. Records must be kept for three years to document compliance.

- 2. A Case for Changing the Minimum Security Requirements (MSC) 1. Its been almost 17 years since the inception of CTPAT and the MSC without an update (November of 2001). 2. Trade growth has increased 88% since 2002. 3. The threats to the US and its partners has increased and evolved. 4. The SAFE Port Act of 2006 mandates that the MSC be reviewed annually to update requirements as necessary in partnership with the Trade community. 5. There are clear short comings in the current MSC • Cybersecurity is a quickly increasing threat • Security Vision and Responsibility • Agricultural security not addressed

- 4. The New Minimum Security Requirements Are Not Finalized! 1. The MSC workbooks were released on July 25th, 2018. 2. The comment period will close on or about October 23rd, 2018 3. CBP is actively looking for constructive feedback from the Trade. CBP fully intends to make adjustments to the current MSC workbook, based on feedback.
