The document presents a new one-pot synthetic method for creating hydroxo-bridged stepped-cubane copper(II) complexes, specifically [Cu4(bpy)4Cl2(OH)4]Cl2·6H2O and [Cu4(phen)4Cl2(OH)4]Cl2·6H2O, which are confirmed through various spectroscopic techniques, including UV-Vis and FTIR. The synthetic route is reported to be more efficient and reproducible than previously established methods, yielding a higher purity and better yield. Additionally, the structural analysis through single crystal X-ray diffraction elucidates the complexes' architectural characteristics and coordination environments around the copper atoms.
