This document discusses new models for sustainable capitalism including benefit corporations and B corporations. Benefit corporations have a purpose in their charter to consider stakeholders in addition to shareholders. They must provide regular performance reports and are established through state statutes. B corporations are certified by B Lab based on an assessment of their positive impact. There are now over 1,300 B corporations across many industries and countries. These new models help attract investors and customers who want to support mission-driven companies and protect their purpose over the long-term.
