GEOLOGY 101 EXTRA CREDIT VOLCANO INVESTIGATION NAME:
Name of Volcano
Tambora volcano
Type of volcano (use classification system in Fletcher)
Strato volcano
Eruption history (last eruption, eruptions in recorded history)
The onset of Tambora’s catastrophic eruption started on April 5, 1815.It began as pyroclastic flows and small tremors. On the evening of 10th April, a shattering blast blew the mountain apart. Before the eruption of Mount Tambora, it was about 4,300 meters high. After the end of the eruption, a caldera spanning about 6 km across remained. Tambora volcano remains active. There were smaller eruptions that took place in 1880 and 1967.Elements of increased seismic activity occurred in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
Tectonic setting
The Tambora stratovolcano covers the entire 60-km-wide Sanggar Peninsula is located on northern Sumbawa Island. Tambora volcano initially grew to about 4000 meters elevation. This was before the major explosion that destroyed its summit. The explosion left a pre-1815 caldera.
The 1815 eruption emptied about 50-150 cubic kilometers of magma .It has a measure of 7 on the VEI scale. It produced a huge plinian eruption column. This is estimated to have reached more than 40-50 km in terms of altitude, ejecting bulky amounts of aerosols and ash into the stratosphere.
The Pyroclastic flows reached the sea on all sections of the peninsula. Heavy tephra fall destroyed croplands, causing about 60,000 fatalities. The Entire villages were buried by thick pumice deposits. Some of the populations have lately been brought back to light by archaeological excavations.
Do people live near this volcano? How many?
People still live near this volcano but the exact number is not known.
What are the primary hazards associated with your volcano?
The pyroclastic flows, blast, and tsunamis that followed after the eruption killed at least 10,000 islanders and destroyed the homes of about 35,000 people. More fatalities were attributed to the indirect consequence of global climate deterioration after the eruption. These climate changes turned the following year 1816 into the "year without a summer" for much of Europe. This resulted to widespread famine. It is believed that the volcano eruption produced tsunamis with waves as high as 10 meters
Who is monitoring this volcano and what are they doing?
The Directorate of Vulcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation, Indonesia does the monitoring for Mount Tambora volcano. The body focuses on tectonic and seismic activities by using a seismograph. Monitoring is constantly performed inside the caldera.

After spending two days in Tel Aviv, you leave for Jerusalem and arrive at your hotel near the old part of the city. Once there, you can't wait to begin exploring. The Old City is a place for walking and wandering, with wonderful sights in its narrow streets.
Drawing you like a magnet is the site of the ancient temple, destroyed by Roman soldiers nearly two thousand years ago. Only its foundation stones remain. On the mount where the temple once stood is now a glittering golden dome. Built by Muslims, the Dome of the Rock covers the great stone beneath it, which is venerated by Muslims and Jews alike, who hold that their ancestor Abraham came to this spot.
You decide to walk down from the city in order to view the mount from below, after which you plan to turn back and travel, like a true pilgrim, “up to Jerusalem.” You buy food for a picnic lunch at stalls as you walk inside the city. Soon you are beyond the Old City gate. Luckily, the day is sunny but not hot. You see a large stone tomb in the valley below and beyond it, in the east, Mount Scopus.
Page 282At last it is time to stop for a rest and to eat your lunch. You sit under a tree and look back, thinking to yourself about the events this site has witnessed. Your mind becomes crowded with the names of biblical kings, prophets, and priests associated with Jerusalem: David, Solomon, Melchizedek, Isaiah, Jeremiah. As the sounds of everyday traffic filter through your thoughts, you imagine the many battles over this holy city and the successive waves of conquerors—Babylonians, Greeks, Romans, A.

1. END OF TIME|THE
MOMENT
by: Dr. Shahid Masood
Episodes 11,12,13
Presented By:
Rumman Mahmood
Anum Mehreen
Syeda Ayesha
2. Introduction
Episode 11
This episode is about occurrence of divine punishment upon people living on this world,
before the Day of Judgment.
The currently changing climatic conditions.
Arrival of Dajjal and Hazrat Essa A.S before the Day of Judgment.
Some incidents which were happening before end of world are related with rainfall,
earthquakes, rivers and changes that are happening with in the sea due to change in climatic
conditions.
2
3. HADITH:
According to Sahi Bukhari:
Hazrat Imran bin Hussain (r.z) narrated that Prophet PBUH once said:
3
5. KHASAF means Earth Burst and swallow of things what’s top on it.
MASAKH means change of shapes, look appearance or look of something.
Like Allah gave punishment to the people of Bani Israel in which they were
given the shape of pigs and were made monkeys.
QAZAF means rain of stones from sky. The way it happened to the people
of Loot upon which Allah sent down the rain of stones.
5
7. • The terms KHASAF, MASAKH and QAZAF will only occur on those who created flaws
in Deen and are against the right path which is SIRAT E MUSTAKIM.
HADITH: Another incident which will occur in accordance with climatic change is
narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira (r.z) that Prophet said:
7
8. The end is Near:
“The end is near” this statement is justified when we see dramatic climate
change in different parts of the world
The places which are usually warm by nature are now facing unusual cold
climate and vice versa.
All these changes will occur at rapid pace before the end of time. And
nowadays the climate change is considered as one of the dangerous element
of this world and scientifically it is proven as global warming.
8
9. • Is there somewhere in the world that a man is trying to control the climatic
conditions? Is man trying to make dangerous weapon in the shape of
Earthquakes and floods etc.?
• In recent times, many natural disasters like Earthquakes have been observed
in different parts of the world and this ratio went from dangerous to deadly.
9
10. HAARP:
Many analysts believed that HAARP (High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is the
research program which is responsible for all these unusual climatic changes and for the first time
in 1996 an American scientists Doctor Roselyn Burton declared it a dangerous weapon and
responsible for many natural disasters like earthquake, tsunamis and floods.
Later it is revealed that this HAARP program is used as environmental weapon to attack other
countries.
This technology is also considered as the reason behind the crash of American airplane TWA
flight 800.
HAARP also have ability to jam world’s entire communication system at any time. It can cause
many artificial environmental disasters which entirely look natural.
10
12. THE DAJ’JALI FITNA:
Many will die due to thunder lightening before the end of world but the
question which is under discussion between Muslims scholars is that whether
this is happening by nature or is there a human hand behind it, where a man
using scientific technology to artificially use environmental disasters as deadly
secret weapons to attack others. The use of such technology for evil purpose
is the basic phenomenon of Daj’jali Fitna.
12
13. Secret Evil Messages:
The cover page of Michael Jackson’s Album
“Dangerous”, Madonna's song “Like a Prayer” is a
source of anonymously conveying these evil messages to
world.
There scripts were actually about to preach us that in the
time of hardships we should concern with devil powers
instead of referring towards Allah Almighty and this is
all what Daj’jali Fitna is.
There are very cleverly putting this Daj’jali temptations
to people’s mind and it is up to Muslims that how they
manage to tackle this fitna before the arrival of Imam
Mehdi. 13
14. Hassles about Arrival of Dajjal:
Jews and Christians denies the emergence of Hazrat Esa A.S as well as Imam Mehdi
before the Day of Judgment.
Similarly some limited number of Muslims also denies the arrival of Imam and
Dajjal as they are of the view that it is not mentioned in Quran. They are the so
called Muslims who are unaware of the importance of Ahadees and Sunnah.
It is already said that before the arrival of Dajjal there will going to be shortfall of
rainfall, the trees will get withered, the fields will get deserted and then the mighty
Dajjal with all his might will attract those who got compelled.
14
16. Arrival of Prophet Essa A.S:
It is said that Hazrat Essa A.S will appear when Muslims have liberated
Constantinople from the control of Christians.
After his appearance he will stay in this world for 40 or 60 years. He will
offer the funeral of Imam Mehdi.
He will also get married and will die after 19 years.
The Muslims will offer his funeral and then he will be buried with Prophet
PBUH.
16
17. Dajjal and his Deceptions:
The stream which is fire by eye is actually the cold running water and the
stream which is cold white water is actually the flaming fire.
So the Prophet advised that in the time of trail one should reach for the
stream which is a running fire and avoid the cold running stream as it is the
prestidigitation of Dajjal and protect yourself from its deceptions.
The Dajjal’s appearance will be in line with God’s claim. To deceive he will
use the word MESSIH with his name. Gradually he will try to put his control
over all the available resources.
17
19. Introduction:
The Jewish sacred process consisted mainly of two books:
